Impact creates social events (e.g., coffee hours, movie nights, talks, etc.) in the learning community that are arranged by students and peer leaders. Social events help allow first-years to interact with like-minded, driven individuals.

Faculty and staff affiliated with Impact will consult with residents in planning field trips, service opportunities, lunches, and dinners designed for Impact that focus on enhancing the understanding of diversity and inclusive excellence.

Other opportunities include invitations to participate in events and other initiatives sponsored by Institute Diversity units – including OMED’s Challenge program, Office of Hispanic Initiatives, LGBTQIA Resource Center, Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology (WST), and the WST Learning Community – and the Writing and Communication Program.
